Pizzeria Planta
If you ever find yourself in Elgin and craving something that hits the sweet spot between cozy comfort and culinary flair, Pizzeria Planta on Batchen Street should be on your radar. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill pizza joint-it’s a lively blend of Italian heart and modern café soul. Whether you're popping in for a quiet solo breakfast, grabbing a quick bite between errands, or settling in for a relaxed dinner with friends, Pizzeria Planta has that rare versatility that keeps people coming back.
Let’s start with the pizza-because at a place named Pizzeria Planta, expectations are high. The Pepperoni Pizza delivers everything you’d want: crispy-edged pepperoni, gooey cheese, and a crust that walks the perfect line between chewy and crisp. Then there’s the Principessa Pizza, a real crown jewel. Topped with fresh veggies and bold flavors, it's a go-to for anyone craving something hearty yet refined. Vegetarians aren’t left out either-the Pizza Vegetariana is a colorful medley that doesn’t skimp on taste.
But it’s not all about pizza. Mornings at Pizzeria Planta are a quiet revelation. Think Royal Eggs, Poached Eggs on Toast, or a comforting plate of Scrambled Eggs done just right. For those leaning toward a more health-conscious start, the Buddha Bowl and Avo Bread or Avocado Halloumi and Poached Egg hit the mark. And if you’re in the mood to treat yourself, the Veggie Breakfast and Eggs Benedict are both beautifully plated and packed with flavor.
Now, let’s talk drinks-because Pizzeria Planta doesn’t mess around when it comes to beverages. The Turmeric and Coconut Latte is a golden-hued favorite that’s both Instagram-worthy and soul-warming. Coffee lovers will find comfort in the classics, especially their rich Cappuccino, which pairs perfectly with one of their house desserts. If tea is more your style, the place boasts a great tea selection, offering everything from herbal to spiced options. For those who fancy something stronger, there’s wine, beer, and even a neat little list of small plates that go along nicely with a drink.
Lunch and dinner offer even more reasons to stop by. The Chef's Tagliatelle is a standout-a generous plate of pasta that feels like a personal invitation to slow down and enjoy. The Garlic Bread, served warm and aromatic, is a simple pleasure that never fails. There’s also something deeply satisfying about their Avocado and Salmon combo, which lands somewhere between brunch and full-blown indulgence. If you like to graze or share, the Cheese Platter makes for an excellent companion to a glass of red.
Pizzeria Planta is also impressively inclusive with its offerings. There are plenty of vegan dishes, vegetarian plates, and options for those looking to eat light without sacrificing flavor. Their quick bite menu is a real bonus for anyone short on time but unwilling to settle for less-than-great food.
Accessibility-wise, the space is designed to be welcoming for all, with wheelchair-accessible seating that ensures comfort without compromise. The vibe is warm, modern, and unpretentious-perfect for solo diners who want a laid-back meal, or groups looking for a place to unwind.
From morning coffees to evening wines, from artisan pizzas to nourishing bowls, Pizzeria Planta strikes that rare balance between creativity and comfort. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t just serve food-it leaves an impression.

We absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing! Had the avocado, halloumi, poached egg, as well as the Principessa Pizza. Both perfect. The atmosphere was great, music choice on point, and the servers (Evie and Taylor) were wonderfully friendly and efficient! Can’t wait to return!
The breakfast and lunch menus have a good variety, fav go tos are eggs royale or the pancakes. Pizza is so good and the BLT for lunch. Staff are friendly and attentive, restaurant has a pleasant decor and always clean.
Pizzeria Planta is an inviting restaurant from the outside and is very well laid out inside. The internal decor is nice and the access is disabled friendly. There are two aspects to our visit that could do with improving to make the overall experience 5 stars. Some staff members could do with customer training as they clearly were having a bad day which made us feel is if we were a burden. The toilets could do with a refurbishment as it just spoils the atmosphere they are working hard to create. The food is exceptionally beautiful and tasty and I would highly recommend. There was a staff member with glasses who was a pleasure to deal with and made us feel welcome.
Fantastic food and drink. The staff were excellent. We took our dog as we were on holiday with the dog. When I asked the waitress if there was a section, we could have our dog, she said. "The dog can be anywhere in the restaurant. We welcome dogs." The staff were so lovely and bought our wee pup water. The food was excellent and the coffee was the best I've had in Scotland for a long time! Congratulations guys, keep up the great work.
Best eating place in Elgin. Variety of quality food. Lots to choose from, good coffee, and amazing smoothies. Check times they are open before you go. Service can be a little slow... However, everything else would make it a great eating place. Lovely little street. It's probably the nicest little street in Elgin.
